MAHLE 42228 Engine Piston Ring Set

The MAHLE 42228 Engine Piston Ring Set is a precision-engineered replacement ring set designed to restore proper compression, reduce oil consumption, and return engine performance to factory specification. Manufactured by MAHLE, the world's largest piston ring manufacturer, this set reflects more than a century of OE-level engineering expertise used by the majority of engine builders in North America.

MAHLE piston ring sets are pre-lapped from the factory, seating quickly and virtually eliminating extended break-in periods. Ring materials, coatings, and tension levels are optimized for each specific application to reduce friction and maximize service life.

Key Features:

• Pre-lapped design for fast, reliable seating and minimal break-in time
• Barrel-faced compression ring contact area promotes efficient sealing and instant cylinder wall contact
• Intermediate (second) ring features a reverse-twist design for enhanced groove-side sealing and superior oil control
• CP-20 oil control ring assembly with a 20-degree ear angle provides an optimal side seal against the cylinder wall
• Special chemical polish on the oil ring expander promotes enhanced oil drain-back
• Ring materials and coatings optimized to reduce friction and extend service life
• Ultra-flat ring flanks maximize ring-to-piston groove sealing
• Engineered to meet or exceed original equipment specifications

The MAHLE 42228 piston ring set is built to handle today's demanding engine environments, including elevated combustion pressures and higher operating temperatures. This set is an ideal choice for engine rebuilders and technicians seeking OE-quality replacement rings backed by MAHLE's proven manufacturing standards.
