Product Details

The Bosch 12-13-1-247-281 is a genuine OEM ignition coil designed for BMW 318 series and Z3 models equipped with 1.8L M42 or 1.9L M44 engines. This critical ignition system component transforms the vehicle's 12-volt battery power into the high-voltage spark needed to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, producing approximately 30,000 volts at the spark plug.

Key Features:

  • Genuine Bosch OEM quality meeting BMW factory specifications
  • Direct replacement for BMW part number 12131247281
  • Includes integrated spark plug connector for complete installation
  • Oil-filled canister design for reliable heat dissipation and durability
  • Premium copper windings ensure peak performance and extended service life
  • Weatherproof construction resists thermal cycling and environmental stress

Ignition coils are a common maintenance item, typically requiring replacement around 100,000 miles or when ignition performance degrades. Common symptoms of a failing ignition coil include engine misfires, rough idle, loss of power, decreased fuel economy, and hard starting. This Bosch ignition coil restores proper spark delivery for smooth engine operation and optimal fuel efficiency.
