The S&S Cycle 31-2328 Cylinder Base Studs are precision-machined replacement cylinder base studs engineered for Harley-Davidson Big Twin engines spanning the Knucklehead, Panhead, and Shovelhead eras. Manufactured from 4140 chromoly steel, these studs deliver the strength and durability required for proper cylinder sealing and long-term engine reliability.

Each pack contains 8 studs — the complete quantity needed for one engine — making this a convenient, all-in-one replacement solution for a top-end rebuild or engine assembly. These studs are a direct-fit replacement for the original equipment hardware used on 1936–1984 Harley-Davidson Big Twin crankcases.

S&S Cycle recommends using Loctite Stud and Bearing Mount when installing cylinder base studs to prevent the studs from rotating during future disassembly. Stud protrusion height above the base flange should be verified after installation to ensure proper engagement with the base nuts.

Great website with very quick response time and fast shipping. Product arrived as described, however packing fell short of my expectations as manufacturer's box was taped up and components were jarred around during transit causing some pieces to be scratched. Overall, would certainly do business with the company again due to flawless customer service.

With money being tight, we have to do whatever we can to save a few dollars here and there. Autoplicity ended up having the absolute lowest shipped price on the item I needed, and it arrived sooner than I had anticipated!
