The COMP Cams Xtreme Energy CL23-223-4 is a complete camshaft and lifter kit designed specifically for Chrysler big block 383-440 cubic inch V8 engines. This hydraulic flat tappet camshaft delivers excellent low-end to midrange power with a strong vacuum signal, making it ideal for street performance applications, mild street/strip builds, and trucks that see occasional towing duty.

Camshaft Specifications:

  • Advertised Duration: 268°/274° (intake/exhaust)
  • Duration @ .050": 224°/230° (intake/exhaust)
  • Valve Lift: .477"/.480" (intake/exhaust) with 1.5:1 rocker ratio
  • Lobe Separation Angle: 110°
  • Recommended RPM Range: 1,500-5,500
  • Hydraulic flat tappet design for quiet operation and minimal maintenance

Complete Kit Includes:

  • Assembly lube for proper break-in

This camshaft produces a noticeable performance idle with good vacuum characteristics, making it compatible with power brakes and automatic transmissions. The Xtreme Energy lobe profile provides aggressive performance while maintaining excellent street manners and durability. Recommended for engines with compression ratios between 9.0:1 and 10.5:1 and requires valve springs with approximately 260-280 lbs of open pressure.
