Product Details

The Motive Gear R10RET differential bearing kit (also called a differential install kit or ring and pinion bearing kit) uses Timken tapered bearings. It is made for rebuilding a GM 8.5" differential. Replacing the bearings and installation hardware at the same time helps restore smooth, quiet operation after a gear swap or rebuild.

  • Timken tapered bearings for the carrier and for the front and rear pinion positions
  • Application: GM 8.5" differential
  • Crush sleeve or preload shim pack for setting pinion preload
  • Pinion nut and pinion seal
  • Cover gasket or RTV silicone
  • Gear marking compound for checking the gear pattern
  • Brush and thread locking compound
  • Warranty: 1 year or 50,000 miles

Motive Gear builds its drivetrain components on years of racing development and tests them in-house. It is a good choice for a performance or heavy-duty rebuild. The kit does not include ring gear bolts or pinion and carrier shims. Those come in the Motive Gear master kit versions.
