Cometic C5273-080 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Chevy Small Block Bore - for V8 4.200

The Cometic Gaskets C5273-080 is a premium Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation-1 Small Block V8 engines. This high-performance gasket features a compressed thickness of .080 inches and is designed for engines with a 4.200-inch bore diameter.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing and durability under high-performance conditions
• Designed for 18-degree and 23-degree cylinder heads commonly used in racing applications
• Valve pocket reliefs machined into the gasket to accommodate high-lift camshafts and larger valve configurations
• Steam hole provisions to optimize coolant flow and prevent hot spots
• .080-inch compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
• 4.200-inch bore diameter accommodates both stock and slightly overbored engines

Cometic MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with a Viton rubber coating to provide exceptional conformability to sealing surfaces while maintaining strength under extreme cylinder pressures. This gasket is ideal for high-performance street engines, bracket racing applications, and engine builds requiring precise compression control. The valve pocketed design ensures clearance for performance cylinder heads with enlarged valve pockets, making this an excellent choice for race-prepared small block Chevy engines.
