About Polisport: Built for the Dirt Since 1978
Few brands carry a founding story as authentic as Polisport's. Founded in 1978 in Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal, the company traces its roots back to founder Pedro Araújo, who began crafting custom fenders for his own motocross bike at a time when quality plastic parts were hard to come by. Local riders took notice, demand grew quickly, and a brand was born. Today, Polisport is a globally recognized leader in off-road motorcycle plastics and accessories, exporting to more than 60 countries around the world.
What sets Polisport apart is a deep commitment to in-house manufacturing and proprietary technology. Polisport fenders and plastic bodywork are produced using the brand's own DGP (Durable Glossy Polypropylene) process — a material engineered specifically for off-road conditions that delivers superior gloss retention, UV resistance, and impact toughness compared to standard polypropylene. The result is replacement bodywork that matches OEM color and fitment while outlasting the original in demanding trail and race environments.
The brand's engineering ethos extends well beyond bodywork. Polisport headlights are manufactured using a dual-injection process that combines polypropylene and rubber in a single unit, boosting impact resistance while keeping weight to a minimum. Available in both halogen and LED configurations, they are designed for universal fitment on dirt bikes and are homologated for on-road use — a practical advantage for dual-sport and enduro riders.
On the controls side, Polisport has developed a reputation for some of the most crash-worthy levers in the segment. Their brake and clutch lever sets are offered in two distinct technologies: the APT (Advanced Polymer Technology) system, which pairs a stainless-steel core with a high-resistance composite that bends under impact rather than snapping, and the Pivot system, which uses CNC-machined aluminum adapters and a fold-out pivot mechanism to survive tip-overs. Both systems mount directly into stock perches and master cylinders without modification.
Rounding out the performance parts lineup, Polisport drive chain guides are engineered for the punishment of enduro and motocross riding, keeping chain tracking consistent when terrain gets rough. And for riders building or restoring a complete lighting setup, Polisport headlight bulbs offer a straightforward OEM-compatible replacement option.
Whether you ride KTM, Husqvarna, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, GasGas, or any of the other major off-road platforms, Polisport maintains one of the broadest fitment catalogs in the industry — all designed and manufactured under one roof in Portugal.
