AMS Automotive 4982 Hatch Lift Support for Dodge & Mitsubishi

The AMS Automotive 4982 is a premium gas-charged hatch lift support designed specifically for select Dodge and Mitsubishi vehicles. This lift support provides smooth, reliable operation to raise and hold your hatch safely in the open position.

How Gas-Charged Lift Supports Work:

Gas-charged lift supports function as energy storage devices that compress gas inside a cylinder. When the hatch is closed, energy is stored under compression. When opened, this energy is released to assist in raising the hatch and maintaining it securely in the open position.

Quality Manufacturing & Testing:

• Custom engineered and manufactured to exceed industry standards
• Each unit tested in four different positions during compression and extension cycles
• Speed and force measurements verified for consistent performance
• Subjected to two overload tests to ensure structural integrity and safety
• Designed for smoother operation and extended service life

Installation Note:

Lift supports should always be replaced in pairs to ensure balanced, safe, and reliable support of your hatch. Using mismatched or single lift supports can result in uneven operation and potential safety hazards.

This precision-matched lift support is application-specific to ensure proper fit, force rating, and safe operation for your vehicle.
