Product Details

The Cusco 965 028 A Close Ratio Transmission Gear Set is engineered for the factory 6-speed manual transmission found in the Toyota 86, Scion FR-S, and Subaru BRZ. Designed to minimize the RPM drop that occurs during upshifts, this gear set helps keep the engine operating within its optimal power and torque band for improved acceleration performance.

Key Features:

  • Close ratio 1st and 2nd gear reduces the gap between gear ratios, preventing significant engine revolution drop during upshifts
  • Includes counter shaft for a complete, ready-to-install gear set solution
  • Keeps engine RPMs in the optimal power band through gear changes
  • Designed specifically for the factory Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ 6-speed manual transmission
  • Manufactured by Cusco, a leading Japanese performance and motorsport components brand

By tightening the ratio spread between 1st and 2nd gear, this Cusco gear set is ideal for competitive driving and track use, where maintaining momentum and minimizing power loss during gear changes is critical. The inclusion of the counter shaft ensures all necessary components are provided for installation.
