Pirelli Spare Tire

About Pirelli: A Legacy of Performance and Precision

Few names in the automotive world carry as much prestige as Pirelli. Founded in Milan, Italy in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, the company has spent over 150 years at the forefront of tire technology and design. What began as a rubber goods manufacturer on the banks of the Naviglio canal has evolved into one of the most recognizable and respected tire brands on the planet — a name synonymous with speed, safety, and Italian craftsmanship.

Pirelli's global reputation isn't built on marketing alone. The brand has earned its stripes on the world's most demanding race circuits and mountain passes. As the exclusive tire supplier to Formula 1 since 2011, Pirelli engineers tires that must perform flawlessly at speeds exceeding 200 mph, under extreme lateral forces, and in rapidly changing track conditions. That motorsport DNA flows directly into their consumer product lineup, making every Pirelli tire a product of real-world, high-stakes engineering.

A Tire for Every Road

Pirelli's tire catalog is remarkably broad, covering everything from ultra-high-performance summer rubber to all-season touring tires and rugged SUV fitments. Their lineup is organized into several well-known families, each engineered for a specific driving experience:

• P Zero – Pirelli's flagship ultra-high-performance tire, developed in tandem with leading automakers including Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, and Porsche. Original Equipment on some of the world's most exotic vehicles.
• Cinturato – Designed with efficiency and environmental responsibility in mind, the Cinturato family balances low rolling resistance with confident wet-weather grip, making it a favorite for everyday performance drivers.
• Scorpion – Purpose-built for SUVs and crossovers, the Scorpion line delivers the grip and durability demanded by larger, heavier vehicles — on pavement and light off-road terrain alike.
• Winter & Ice – Pirelli's cold-weather range, including the Winter Sottozero and Ice Zero series, provides drivers in harsh climates with the traction and stopping power needed when temperatures drop.
• Moto Tires – Pirelli's motorcycle tire range, including the Diablo and Angel lines, brings the same performance philosophy to two-wheeled riding, offering exceptional grip and feedback for sport, touring, and adventure riders.

Innovation and Sustainability

Pirelli has long understood that performance and responsibility are not mutually exclusive. The company invests heavily in research and development, with dedicated technology centers around the world exploring new rubber compounds, construction methods, and smart tire technologies. Their Cyber Tyre technology embeds sensors within the tire itself, delivering real-time data on temperature, pressure, and load to the vehicle's onboard systems — a glimpse at the future of connected mobility.

Sustainability is equally central to Pirelli's mission. The brand has committed to reducing the environmental impact of its manufacturing processes, increasing the use of bio-sourced and recycled materials in its compounds, and holding itself to rigorous emissions targets across its global production network.
