Gates 21243 Molded Coolant Hose EPDM Radiator Replacement

The Gates 21243 is a precision-molded EPDM coolant hose engineered to OEM specifications for a direct-fit radiator hose replacement. Pre-shaped to match the original routing, this hose installs quickly and seals reliably without cutting or modification in most applications.

Key Features:

• EPDM Construction: Tube, reinforcement, and cover are built from EPDM rubber for long-lasting resistance to heat, ozone, and chemical coolants
• Electrochemical Degradation Resistance: Engineered compounds resist electrochemical degradation (ECD) — the leading cause of coolant hose failure — to prevent internal micro-cracking and unexpected failure
• Vacuum Collapse Resistance: Re-engineered materials resist vacuum collapse, reducing the need for internal springs in many applications
• SAE Compliant: Meets SAE 20R4 EC Class D1 requirements
• Temperature Rated: Rated for continuous operation from -40°F to +275°F (-40°C to +135°C)
• OEM-Quality Fit: Manufactured to OEM specifications and pre-shaped for a precise, leak-free installation
• Synthetic Fiber Knit Reinforcement: Internal reinforcement layer provides added burst strength and durability

Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed to ensure a secure, long-lasting seal.
