Product Details

The Gates 23097 is a premium pre-molded coolant hose engineered to OEM-quality specifications for upper, lower, bypass, heater, and other coolant circuit applications. Designed as a direct OE replacement, it installs quickly and seals reliably without the time or expense of a dealership visit.

Key Features:

  • EPDM construction — EPDM tube with synthetic fiber knit reinforcement and a heat-, ozone-, and chemical coolant-resistant EPDM cover for long service life
  • Electrochemical degradation (ECD) resistance — specifically engineered compounds combat the leading cause of coolant hose failure, where micro-cracks form from galvanic reactions between the hose, coolant, and metal fittings
  • Vacuum collapse resistance — materials are engineered to resist collapse under vacuum, reducing the need for internal support springs in many applications
  • Pre-shaped for a precise fit — factory-molded OEM-style profile ensures a perfectly sealed, drop-in installation
  • Wide temperature range — rated from -40°F to +257°F (-40°C to +125°C)
  • Meets industry standards — complies with SAE 20R4 Class D2 and DIN 73411 Class A requirements
  • Marine approved — suitable for marine cooling system applications

Gates recommends replacing hose clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed to ensure a proper seal and maximum reliability.
