Poison Spyder Fender Flare
Poison Spyder Fender Flares: Built for the Trail, Not the Parking Lot
When serious Jeep owners outgrow their stock fenders, they turn to Poison Spyder — a brand that has earned its reputation by engineering fender flares that go far beyond cosmetic upgrades. These are functional, trail-tested components designed to withstand rock strikes, provide genuine tire clearance, and protect your Jeep's body where factory sheet metal simply isn't up to the task.
The Crusher Flare: Poison Spyder's Signature Design
The iconic Crusher Flare series is the cornerstone of Poison Spyder's fender flare lineup. Available in both steel and aluminum versions, these flares are offered in multiple widths — narrow, standard, and extra wide — so builders can match coverage to their tire size and build goals. Steel versions are constructed from thick 1.5 in. x .120 in. wall DOM structural tubing, with the fender surface made from 1/8 in. laser-cut plate steel. For those wanting to save weight, the aluminum version uses .188" aluminum tubing, providing the same look as steel but at less than half the weight of Poison Spyder's steel counterpart.
The Inner Brace System: A Smarter Mount
What truly separates Poison Spyder Crusher Flares from the competition is how they attach to your Jeep. Competitors' flare products simply bolt directly to the outer layer of body sheet metal — which is very thin and flexible. Upon contact with rocks, trees, or other trail hazards, this can push in and deform the flimsy sheet metal. The Inner Brace Set that comes with Poison Spyder Crusher Flares effectively bypasses the outer sheet metal, instead transferring impact forces to the much stronger inner structure of the Jeep. High-quality rubber liners are included to place between the Crusher Flare and the Jeep's body sheet metal during installation , protecting the paint and preventing rattles.
DeFenders: The Next Evolution in Fender Design
For builds demanding even more capability, Poison Spyder also offers the DeFender series. Poison Spyder calls DeFenders the next evolutionary step beyond "tube fenders" — CNC laser cutting and precision brake-forming yield a stronger, more functional, better-looking fender than the tired, outdated tube fender design, providing protection during hardcore trail use as well as increased clearance for larger tires and suspension articulation. DeFenders are fabricated entirely from CNC laser-cut, precision brake-formed 3/16" plate, either heavy-duty P&O steel or lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum. The DeFender features an extra "return," or lip along the underside of the fender, which provides better protection from cutting into a fully stuffed tire while also lending extra strength to the outer edge where it is most likely to contact rocks, canyon walls, and trees.
Finish Options and Fitment
Poison Spyder offers several finish options across their fender flare lines: bare/raw metal for those who want to apply custom finishes, SpyderShell — their signature textured powder coat providing excellent protection with a distinctive look — and standard powder coat in various colors for a more integrated appearance. Most Crusher and DeFender flares are engineered as direct-fit replacements for Jeep Wrangler models including the JK and JL/JT, utilizing a bolt-on installation system with all necessary mounting fasteners and countersunk holes included to minimize installation time.
Whether you're running 35s on a weekend warrior or fitting 40s on a dedicated trail rig, Poison Spyder's fender flares deliver the clearance, protection, and aggressive look that serious Jeep builds demand.
