By crushing used oil filters, shops can extract and properly recycle used oil while reducing filter volume for more efficient disposal. This helps facilities meet increasingly strict EPA landfill and hazardous waste standards while avoiding potential fines. The extracted oil can be collected and recycled, and in many locations, the crushed filter material qualifies as recyclable scrap metal.
