About Legacy Manufacturing

Legacy Manufacturing has been a go-to name for professional mechanics, garage technicians, and serious DIYers since 1986. Founded as a division of Weems Industries, Inc. — a family-owned and operated business headquartered in Marion, Iowa — Legacy built its reputation on a straightforward philosophy: make tools and equipment that are durable, efficient, and genuinely easier to use than whatever came before.

Over nearly four decades, Legacy has grown into one of the most recognized names in shop equipment, developing a portfolio of proprietary brands — including Flexzilla®, ColorConnex®, SmartFlex™, and Lock-n-Load™ — each engineered around a specific performance goal. Flexzilla hoses, for example, are built with a hybrid polymer material that remains flexible in subzero temperatures and resists kinking in any weather, setting a new standard for air and water hose performance in professional environments.

What Legacy Manufacturing Makes

At the heart of Legacy's lineup are its industry-leading hose reels. From retractable air hose reels to levelwind water reels, Legacy offers configurations for virtually every shop or garage setup — including wall-mount, ceiling-mount, and mobile options in a wide range of hose sizes and pressure ratings. The ZillaReel™ and Flexzilla retractable reel series are among the most trusted in professional automotive service.

Complementing those reels is a comprehensive range of air tool hose fittings. Legacy's ColorConnex® system stands out in this category with color-coded couplers and plugs available in B, C, D, and G styles, making it easy to identify and match fittings across a busy shop. The anodized aluminum construction delivers lasting performance under high-pressure air line conditions.

For connecting and sealing air lines, Legacy's hose couplers offer quick, reliable attachment points. Whether pairing with a blow gun, air tool, or grease line, their coupler lineup includes safety couplers, 4-jaw grease couplers, and quick-connect bodies designed to minimize pressure drop and maximize flow.

Legacy also manufactures fresh water hoses built for demanding applications beyond the garden — including RV, marine, and outdoor use. The SmartFlex™ line is specifically designed for these environments, offering a lightweight, kink-resistant build suited to everything from campsite hookups to boat dock connections.

Rounding out the shop essentials, Legacy's grease guns are engineered for speed and ease of use. The Lock-n-Load™ system features a patented threadless, quick-connect barrel that reportedly cuts reload time in half compared to conventional grease guns. The Flexzilla cordless grease gun adds a 20-volt battery-powered option with a hybrid grease hose that stays pliable from subzero cold to high-heat environments.

Why Professionals Choose Legacy

What sets Legacy apart is the consistent application of materials science and ergonomic thinking across its entire product range. Rather than simply building to a price point, Legacy's engineering teams develop purpose-built tools for the demands of real shop environments — where hoses get dragged across concrete floors, fittings are connected and disconnected dozens of times a day, and equipment needs to perform reliably shift after shift. For mechanics, fleet technicians, and shop owners who depend on their tools, Legacy Manufacturing delivers equipment that earns its place in a professional workspace.
