Product Details

The Gates 23821 is a premium molded coolant hose engineered as a direct-fit upper radiator hose replacement. Pre-shaped to match OEM specifications, this hose installs quickly and seals reliably without modification, saving time and reducing the risk of leaks common with universal-cut hoses.

Gates molded coolant hoses are constructed with specially engineered EPDM materials that resist the electrochemical degradation (ECD) that is the leading cause of coolant hose failure. The reinforced construction also resists vacuum collapse, reducing or eliminating the need for internal support springs in many applications.

Key Features:

  • Pre-shaped molded design for precise, leak-free OEM-style fit
  • Engineered to resist electrochemical degradation (ECD) — the leading cause of hose failure
  • Heat and ozone resistant cover for long service life
  • Re-engineered materials resist vacuum collapse
  • Temperature rated from -40°F to +275°F (-40°C to +135°C)
  • Meets SAE 20R4 and 20R3 Type EC Class D-1 and D-2 specifications
  • Approved for marine applications
  • Aramid or rayon knit reinforcement depending on application

Gates recommends replacing hose clamps with Gates PowerGrip SB Clamps each time a new coolant hose is installed for optimal sealing performance. Not for use in fuel or oil transfer applications.
