Product Details

The Dorman 638-242 is a heat-shrink butt connector designed for joining two wires in automotive, marine, and other electrical applications. This connector accommodates 12-10 gauge wire and features a yellow color-coded sleeve for easy wire gauge identification.

Key Features:

  • Heat-shrink design provides a watertight seal when heated, protecting connections from moisture and corrosion
  • 12-10 gauge wire capacity for medium-duty electrical circuits
  • Yellow color coding follows industry-standard wire gauge identification
  • Crimped barrel connection ensures secure mechanical and electrical contact
  • Ideal for automotive wiring repairs, trailer wiring, marine applications, and general electrical work
  • Durable construction resists vibration and environmental exposure

This butt connector simplifies do-it-yourself wiring projects by providing a professional-grade connection solution. Simply strip the wire, insert into each end of the connector, crimp with an appropriate crimping tool, and apply heat to shrink the outer sleeve for a sealed, protected connection.

Although there was a mix up with the shipping on my order customer service was helpful and expedited the solution and made it worth my trouble. I will be keeping Autoplicity in mind for any other parts I might need for my Jeep.
