Product Details

The Standard Motor Products RY-1491 is an A/C compressor control relay designed to regulate the electrical circuit that activates and deactivates your vehicle's air conditioning compressor clutch. This relay acts as an electrical switch, allowing low-current signals from the A/C control system to safely control the high-current draw required by the compressor clutch.

Key Features:

  • Direct replacement for failed or faulty A/C compressor relays
  • Controls power delivery to the compressor clutch coil
  • Engineered to OEM specifications for reliable performance
  • Manufactured by Standard Motor Products, a trusted name in automotive electrical components
  • Helps prevent compressor damage and electrical system strain

When this relay fails, common symptoms include the A/C compressor not engaging, intermittent cooling, or complete A/C system failure. Replacing a faulty relay restores proper compressor operation and air conditioning performance. Standard Motor Products relays undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet or exceed original equipment standards for durability and electrical performance.
