Standard Motor Products S1406 Air Bag Clockspring

The Standard Motor Products S1406 is a direct-fit air bag clockspring (also known as a clock spring, coil spring, or spiral cable) designed to restore proper function to your vehicle's supplemental restraint system (SRS) and steering column electrical connections.

The clockspring serves as a continuous electrical connector between the stationary wiring harness and the rotating steering wheel, maintaining reliable signal transmission for the air bag system, horn, cruise control, and other steering wheel-mounted controls — even as the wheel turns.

Key Features:

• Direct OE replacement for a precise, hassle-free fit
• Maintains continuous electrical contact between the steering column and rotating steering wheel
• Critical for proper air bag (SRS) system operation and deployment readiness
• Also supports horn, cruise control, and steering wheel audio/control functions
• Manufactured to meet or exceed original equipment specifications
• Engineered for reliable, long-term performance

Standard Motor Products has been a trusted name in ignition, electrical, and safety components for over a century. The S1406 clockspring is built to exacting standards to ensure your vehicle's safety systems remain fully operational. A faulty or failed clockspring commonly triggers an SRS warning light and should be replaced promptly to maintain air bag system integrity.
