Product Details

The Standard Motor Products DR2239 is a precision-engineered ignition contact set (breaker points) designed for distributor-equipped vehicles. This component is essential for triggering the ignition coil to fire spark plugs at the correct timing intervals in older ignition systems.

Key Features:

  • Pre-aligned and pre-adjusted from the factory to save installation time and ensure proper switching operation
  • Tungsten contacts that run cooler and exhibit less erosion than standard materials
  • Copper-alloy shunt provides superior resistance to breakage due to flexing and significantly increases current conductivity over typical steel shunts
  • Includes lubricated felt pad that lubricates the distributor cam lobes, reducing wear on the point set rubbing block and extending service life
  • Ventilated design where applicable for improved heat dissipation
  • Manufactured to exceed OEM specifications for dependable, accurate operation

Standard Motor Products has been a trusted name in automotive ignition components since 1919, delivering over 100 years of quality and reliability. This contact set is designed for use in select 1960-1961 Chevrolet Corvair models and various import vehicles from the 1960s through 1970s.
