Product Details

The Airtex 5S5242 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is an engine management replacement part that monitors throttle plate position and reports it to the engine control module. The computer uses this signal to help set fuel delivery and keep the engine running smoothly. It is also referred to as a throttle position switch or TPS sensor, and it is cross-referenced to Standard Motor Products TH242.

Key Features:

  • Replacement throttle position sensor for the throttle body
  • Plug-in connection with a female connector housing
  • 3 male blade terminals
  • Part number cross-references: Airtex/Wells 5S5242, Standard TH242, NTK TH0185, Walker Products 2001189
  • OEM reference numbers: Mitsubishi MD614327 and EWTF2A

A worn or failing throttle position sensor can cause symptoms such as hesitation, rough idle or erratic shifting. Replacing it restores accurate throttle feedback to the engine computer.

Autoplicity always has the lowest prices and they ship extremely quickly!

The price as well as the turn time for receiving my product was great. I placed an order late Sunday evening and I have received my order by Wednesday of that week. I still can't get over how great the price was for the bike rack I ordered compared to all of the other sites out there.

easy

This was my first time using autoplicity and I was very happy with their service. Great prices and fast shipping.
