The Airtex Automotive Division 2N1087 is a precision-engineered torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid designed to control the lock-up function in automatic transmissions. This critical component electronically regulates hydraulic pressure to engage and disengage the torque converter clutch, creating a direct mechanical connection between the engine and transmission at highway speeds.

A failed solenoid can cause symptoms including engine stalling at stops, poor fuel economy, harsh shifting, or diagnostic trouble codes such as P0740.

My initial review was 1 star because I ordered a Thule rooftop cargo box, but cancelled the order after Autoplicity called me about collecting extra money to ship the item after their website did not charge me enough for shipping. After my initial review Autoplicity offered to ship the item totally free since the issue was a flaw in their website. This was unexpected, above and beyond in my opinion.
