Product Details

The Airtex 1S5768 is a clutch pedal position and starter safety switch designed to prevent engine starting unless the clutch pedal is fully depressed. This critical safety component ensures that vehicles equipped with manual transmissions cannot be started while in gear, protecting against unintended vehicle movement and potential accidents.

Key Features:

  • Direct replacement for OEM part number NS157
  • Ensures proper starter engagement only when clutch pedal is pressed
  • Prevents accidental starting in gear for enhanced safety
  • Manufactured to meet or exceed original equipment specifications
  • Designed for reliable electrical contact and long service life

This switch is a vital component of your vehicle's safety system. When the clutch pedal is depressed, the switch closes the starter circuit, allowing the engine to crank. When the pedal is released, the circuit opens, preventing starter engagement. Airtex Automotive Division is part of the Wells Vehicle Electronics family, known for producing quality electrical components for automotive applications.
