Product Details

The Airtex 1R1643 A/C clutch relay (also called an A/C compressor clutch relay or air conditioning relay) switches power to the air conditioning compressor clutch. When the climate control calls for cooling, the relay closes and engages the compressor clutch. A failed relay can leave the A/C blowing warm air or cause intermittent compressor operation.

Key Features:

  • Replacement A/C compressor clutch relay from Airtex Automotive Division
  • Manufacturer part number: 1R1643
  • Interchanges with Standard Motor Products RY679
  • Cross-references include Mitsubishi MR538851, Chrysler 8627A008, Wells 20327, Four Seasons 36135 and CARQUEST 56-2048
  • Plug-in relay design for straightforward replacement

If your A/C compressor isn't engaging, check the fuse and relay first. Replacing a worn relay is usually a quick, tool-free job.
