Product Details

The Cometic C5768-040 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for GM's Gen-1 and Gen-2 Ecotec L42 and L61 engines. This precision gasket features an 87mm bore diameter and .040" (1.02mm) compressed thickness, making it ideal for performance builds, rebuilds, or applications requiring slightly increased compression.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel construction provides superior sealing and durability under high combustion pressures
  • 87mm bore diameter designed for GM Ecotec L42/L61 engines
  • .040" compressed thickness allows for custom compression ratio tuning
  • MLS design accommodates block and head movement during thermal cycling
  • Embossed stainless steel layers with advanced coating technology ensure reliable sealing
  • Compatible with Gen-1 and Gen-2 Ecotec platforms found in various GM vehicles

Cometic MLS gaskets are manufactured using multiple layers of stainless steel, providing excellent recovery properties and resistance to blowouts. The advanced coating system ensures optimal sealing across the combustion chamber, coolant passages, and oil returns. This gasket is an excellent choice for street performance, turbocharged applications, or engine rebuilds requiring precise deck height compensation.

Easy check out via Amazon and best price too!

Lowest prices around the web and excellent customer service. The only real issue was the wait between placing the order and when it was shipped. Took 4 days but I chalk that up to the large amount of business they due to their prices being so competitive. For the lowest prices that I've seen I didn't mind waiting a bit longer!

Very fast shipping and product was secure in package to avoid damage....will be ordering from autoplicity again for sure. Also the price could not be beat.

Superb company! Autoplicity had the lowest price, shipped it quickly, and it was exactly as advertised - couldn't ask for better results!

Fast shipping. And great cust service.
