Product Details

The COMP Cams CL01-418-8 Xtreme Energy hydraulic roller camshaft and lifter kit is engineered specifically for Chevrolet Big Block Gen VI engines, delivering improved performance across the RPM range. This complete kit features a 230/236 duration camshaft profile designed to provide excellent mid-range torque and strong top-end horsepower, making it ideal for street/strip applications and performance street builds.

Key Specifications:

  • Advertised Duration: 270/276 degrees
  • Duration at .050": 230/236 degrees
  • Valve Lift: .510"/.540" (with 1.7 rocker ratio)
  • Lobe Separation Angle: 110 degrees
  • Hydraulic roller design for reduced friction and improved durability
  • RPM Range: 1,500-6,000 RPM

Complete Kit Includes:

  • Hydraulic roller camshaft
  • Hydraulic roller lifters (16)
  • Assembly lube for proper break-in
  • Installation instructions
  • COMP Cams decals

The Xtreme Energy series is designed for enthusiasts seeking noticeable performance gains with excellent street manners. The hydraulic roller design eliminates the need for break-in procedures required with flat tappet cams while providing superior valve control and reduced valvetrain wear. This camshaft works well with stock or mildly upgraded components and is compatible with stock torque converters and rear gear ratios, though a 2,400-2,800 RPM stall converter and 3.73:1 or steeper gears are recommended for optimal performance.
