The COMP Cams Xtreme Energy CL31-230-3 is a complete hydraulic flat tappet camshaft and lifter kit designed specifically for Ford 221-302 cubic inch small block engines. This performance cam delivers excellent throttle response and a moderate performance increase with smooth idle characteristics, making it ideal for street performance applications.

Camshaft Specifications:

  • Advertised Duration: 260°/266° intake/exhaust
  • Duration @ .050": 206°/212° intake/exhaust
  • Valve Lift: .420"/.442" intake/exhaust (with 1.6 rocker ratio)
  • Lobe Separation Angle: 112°
  • Hydraulic flat tappet design for reliable street performance

Complete Kit Includes:

  • Xtreme Energy camshaft
  • Hydraulic flat tappet lifters (16 lifters)
  • Assembly lube for proper break-in

This camshaft profile provides a power band from approximately 1,500 to 5,500 RPM, delivering strong low-end and midrange torque with improved top-end performance over stock. The moderate duration and lift make it compatible with stock valve springs, pistons, and other components in most applications. Recommended for engines with stock to mildly modified cylinder heads and 8.0:1 to 9.5:1 compression ratio.
