Product Details

The COMP Cams Xtreme Energy CL34-770-9 is a complete solid roller camshaft and lifter kit engineered specifically for Ford 429 and 460 cubic inch big block engines. This high-performance cam delivers aggressive mid-range to top-end power with a duration of 236° intake and 242° exhaust, making it ideal for street/strip applications and engines with modified cylinder heads, intake manifolds, and exhaust systems.

Key Specifications:

Intake Duration: 236° @ .050"
Exhaust Duration: 242° @ .050"
Advertised Duration: 284° intake / 290° exhaust
Valve Lift: .614" intake / .614" exhaust (with 1.73:1 rocker ratio)
Lobe Separation Angle: 110°
RPM Range: 2,500 - 7,000 RPM
Solid roller design for maximum durability and performance

Complete Kit Includes:

Xtreme Energy solid roller camshaft
Matching solid roller lifters (16)
Assembly lubricant for proper break-in
Installation instructions
COMP Cams decals

This camshaft requires aftermarket valve springs, retainers, and pushrods (not included). Recommended for engines with compression ratios of 10.0:1 or higher, aftermarket cylinder heads, single-plane intake manifold, headers, and a 3,000+ RPM stall converter for automatic transmissions. The solid roller design eliminates the need for break-in procedures required with flat tappet cams and provides superior valve control at high RPM.
