The COMP Cams CL11-678-5 Xtreme Energy camshaft and lifter kit is engineered for high-performance Chevrolet Big Block 396-454 engines seeking aggressive power gains in the mid to upper RPM range. This solid flat tappet cam delivers excellent throttle response and a powerful exhaust note, making it ideal for street/strip applications, hot rods, and muscle car builds.

Camshaft Specifications:

  • Advertised Duration: 284°/292° intake/exhaust
  • Duration at .050": 244°/252° intake/exhaust
  • Valve Lift: .502"/.510" intake/exhaust (with 1.7:1 rocker ratio)
  • Lobe Separation Angle: 110°
  • Recommended RPM Range: 2,000-6,200 RPM
  • Recommended Valve Springs: COMP Cams #981-16 or equivalent

Complete Kit Includes:

This camshaft requires aftermarket valve springs, retainers, and pushrods for proper installation. A performance timing set is also recommended. The solid flat tappet design requires periodic valve lash adjustment but offers maximum durability and performance potential for serious engine builders. Best suited for engines with compression ratios of 9.5:1 or higher and 2,500+ stall speed converters in automatic transmission applications.

I paid for 2nd day shipping and 5 days later they were shipped out. So, I should receive my rotors in a full week from when I paid for 2 day shipping. I called customer service and they discounted the shipping rate to ground service. At least they were polite and helpful in the phone.
