Hi-Lift Jack: Over a Century of American-Made Recovery Gear
The story of Hi-Lift Jacks begins with the Bloomfield Manufacturing Company, established in 1895 by Philip John Harrah — one of the oldest companies in Indiana and a long-standing staple of American industry. In 1905, the very first Hi-Lift Jack was produced — originally called the Automatic Combination Tool, it was also known as the Handyman or Sheepherder's Jack. More than a century later, the design remains one of the most trusted and iconic tools in off-road history.
The Original Power Tool
Hi-Lift® Jacks are multipurpose recovery tools designed to do far more than just lift — their value lies in the ability to lift, winch, spread, hoist, clamp, and more. That versatility is what sets them apart from conventional hydraulic jacks. With a full range of specially designed accessories, the Hi-Lift jack is one of the most versatile pieces of off-roading, farm, and auto recovery equipment available.
At the heart of the lineup is Hi-Lift's flagship product: the Hi-Lift Jack. Available in all-cast construction for superior strength and longevity, as well as in premium cast and stamped steel variants in sizes from 36" to 60". The Stealth model features all-cast construction cloaked in an all-matte black textured powder-coat finish, while the First Responder variant is the tool of choice for extrication, heavy rescue, forcible entry, and stabilization procedures. The All-Cast Jack is the only all-cast jack manufactured in the world, using high-yield iron castings for exceptional tensile strength — capable of a tested capacity of 7,000 lbs.
Built to Last — Backed for Life
Hi-Lift® recently announced a new ‘Lifetime Parts Support Warranty’ — a program designed to reinforce the brand's long-standing commitment to quality, durability, and customer satisfaction. For over a century, Hi-Lift has continually improved its design and performance, with its jacks tested in some of the most extreme environments around the world.
A Complete Ecosystem of Mounting & Recovery Accessories
Hi-Lift's commitment to the off-road community extends well beyond the jack itself. Keeping your jack secure and accessible in the field is just as important as the tool itself, which is why Hi-Lift offers a robust range of Jack Stowage Mounts and Vehicle Lifting Jack Brackets. From roll cage track mounting systems for Jeep Wrangler JLU owners to under-seat mounts for the Jeep Gladiator JT, Hi-Lift provides vehicle-specific solutions designed for secure, convenient storage.
Hi-Lift's accessory lineup also includes a Trailer Jack Mount Bracket for those who need their recovery tool stowed on a trailer, as well as the Door Post Puller — better known as the Post-Popper. The Hi-Lift family of tools has expanded to include the Handle-All multi-functional tool, the Slide-N-Lock Tie-Down System for securing cargo, the Post-Popper post puller, and the Kant-Slam Hydraulic Gate and Door Closer.
Despite this diverse product line, the Hi-Lift Jack remains the heart of the company — the go-to tool for off-road enthusiasts, farmers, and those in need of reliable recovery equipment. Whether you're crawling through Moab or working a remote fence line, Hi-Lift has the equipment to get you back on track.
