Product Details

The Cometic C5804-040 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for GM's Generation 1 and 2 Ecotec engines, including the L42 and L61 variants. This precision gasket features an 89mm bore diameter and a compressed thickness of .040 inches, providing reliable sealing for street and performance applications.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction for superior sealing and durability
  • .040" compressed thickness for optimal compression ratio tuning
  • 89mm bore diameter designed for Ecotec L42/L61 engines
  • Compatible with Generation 1 and 2 GM Ecotec platforms
  • Engineered to handle high cylinder pressures in boosted applications
  • Resistant to combustion gas leakage and coolant seepage

Cometic's MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with elastomeric coatings to create a gasket that conforms to sealing surfaces while maintaining structural integrity under extreme temperatures and pressures. This design makes the C5804-040 an excellent choice for both stock rebuilds and modified Ecotec engines requiring reliable head sealing.
