Product Details

The Gates 38220 DriveAlign Automatic Belt Tensioner is an OE-replacement accessory drive belt tensioner engineered to maintain precise, consistent tension on 5-rib V-ribbed (serpentine) belt systems. Designed as a direct replacement for vehicles equipped with a hydraulic tensioner and air conditioning, this unit delivers the same performance standards as original equipment.

Gates DriveAlign tensioners are built to application-specific tolerances, ensuring proper belt alignment and reducing the vibration and slippage that can lead to premature belt and component wear. The steel construction provides the rigidity and durability required to withstand the demanding thermal and mechanical cycles of modern engine accessory drive systems.

Key Features:

  • Application-specific design engineered to meet OE tension, vibration resistance, and alignment requirements
  • Compatible with 5-rib V-ribbed (serpentine) belt systems
  • Constructed from steel for long-term durability
  • Designed for vehicles with hydraulic tensioner and air conditioning
  • Sold individually as an OE-quality replacement unit
  • Backed by Gates' lifetime limited warranty

As a leader in power transmission and fluid management, Gates engineers each DriveAlign tensioner to restore factory-level belt performance and extend the service life of the entire accessory drive system — including the alternator, power steering pump, A/C compressor, and water pump.

Great site. I received my product quickly and it was the product I ordered.

Autoplicity has the best prices around! They were quick to email a confirmation of the order, shipment, and delivery. I was VERY impressed! I also received my order earlier than I thought, which is always a plus. Will definitely do business with them again! Thanks!

Best Price on the Net for K&N System for my 2012 HEMI RAM. My Order 18270 is shipping today and I can't wait to get it installed!

Best prices online! Ordered a JBA performance exhaust and Airaid intake system for my 06 F-150. Was hesitant at first because I never heard of them but ordering was a breeze and saved me over $100 total for two items compared to anywhere else. Had package at my door in about 24 hours and even selected normal UPS ground shipping. Very satisfied and will definitely return!

Quick shipping and good communication, thanks!
