The COMP Cams CL11-238-3 XE-Series hydraulic flat tappet camshaft and lifter kit is engineered specifically for Chevrolet Big Block 396-454 cubic inch engines. This performance camshaft kit features a 218/224 duration profile that delivers excellent mid-range torque and horsepower gains while maintaining good street manners and vacuum for power brakes.

Camshaft Specifications:

  • Advertised Duration: 270°/276° intake/exhaust
  • Duration at .050": 218°/224° intake/exhaust
  • Valve Lift: .462"/.470" intake/exhaust (with 1.5:1 rocker ratio)
  • Lobe Separation Angle: 110°
  • RPM Range: 1500-5800
  • Hydraulic flat tappet design

  • XE-Series hydraulic flat tappet camshaft
  • Assembly lubricant for proper break-in

This XE-Series cam is ideal for street performance applications, muscle car restorations, and weekend cruisers looking for improved throttle response and power without sacrificing drivability. The hydraulic flat tappet design provides quiet operation and requires no valve lash adjustment. Compatible with stock torque converters (2000+ stall recommended for best performance) and works well with stock or aftermarket cylinder heads and intake manifolds.

Application Note: Designed for 1965-1990 Chevrolet Big Block engines including 396, 402, 427, and 454 cubic inch displacements. Requires compatible valve springs (not included) - COMP Cams part number 986-16 or equivalent recommended for proper valve control.
