The Crown Automotive 4506116 is a complete front axle disconnect vacuum motor assembly designed for Dana 30 front axles equipped with the vacuum-operated Central Axle Disconnect (CAD) system. This essential driveline component enables proper engagement and disengagement of four-wheel drive by connecting or disconnecting the front axle shaft through vacuum pressure.

How It Works:

The vacuum motor operates a shift fork that slides a collar to connect the outer axle shaft to the inner shaft when shifting into 4WD. When you shift your transfer case into four-wheel drive mode, vacuum is supplied to one side of the motor, causing the fork to move the collar and engage the axle. Shifting back to 2WD reverses the vacuum flow, moving the collar back to the disconnected position.
