Product Details

The Cometic C5937-027 is a Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for AMC 390 and 401 cubic inch Gen-3 V8 engines. This precision-manufactured gasket features a compressed thickness of .027 inches and accommodates a 4.250-inch bore diameter, making it ideal for both stock rebuilds and performance applications.

Key Features:

  • Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability
  • .027-inch compressed gasket thickness
  • 4.250-inch bore diameter designed for AMC 390/401 engines
  • Advanced MLS technology allows for controlled thermal expansion and contraction
  • Excellent resistance to combustion pressure and temperature cycling
  • Embossed stainless steel layers ensure consistent clamping pressure

Cometic's MLS gaskets use multiple layers of stainless steel with elastomeric coatings to create a superior seal between the cylinder head and engine block. The flexible design compensates for minor surface imperfections while maintaining optimal sealing performance under extreme conditions. These gaskets are particularly well-suited for performance builds with increased cylinder pressures and demanding operating environments.
