Product Details

The Cometic C5474-070 is a premium multi-layer steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket engineered specifically for Chevrolet Generation 1 Small Block V8 engines. This high-performance gasket features a .070" compressed thickness and is designed for 4.080" bore applications with valve pocketed reliefs for Vortec cylinder heads.

Key Features:

  • Multi-layer steel construction provides superior sealing and durability under extreme conditions
  • .070" compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
  • 4.080" bore diameter accommodates standard and slightly overbored small block applications
  • Valve pocketed design ensures proper clearance for Vortec head valve configurations
  • Embossed stainless steel outer layers with a viton rubber coating for maximum sealing capability
  • Designed to withstand high cylinder pressures in performance and racing applications

Cometic MLS gaskets are the choice of professional engine builders and performance enthusiasts who demand reliable sealing in high-horsepower builds. The multi-layer construction allows the gasket to conform to imperfect sealing surfaces while maintaining excellent recovery properties through repeated heat cycles.
