Cometic C5403-086 MLS Cylinder Head Gasket Bore Chevy Small Block - 4.200 086 V8

The Cometic C5403-086 is a high-performance Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) cylinder head gasket designed specifically for Chevrolet Generation 1 Small Block V8 engines. Engineered for aftermarket cylinder heads, this gasket features a 4.200-inch bore diameter and a compressed thickness of .086 inches, making it ideal for performance and racing applications.

Key Features:

• Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) construction provides superior sealing and durability under extreme cylinder pressures
• 4.200-inch bore diameter accommodates performance builds with overbored cylinders
• .086-inch compressed thickness allows for precise compression ratio tuning
• Undersized water ports designed for customization, allowing builders to match-port to specific aftermarket cylinder heads
• Compatible with Chevrolet Gen-1 Small Block V8 engines (262-400 cubic inch variants)
• Manufactured from high-grade stainless steel with advanced coating technology

Cometic's MLS gaskets utilize multiple layers of stainless steel with a proprietary coating that creates a micro-seal around surface imperfections. The undersized water ports provide maximum material around coolant passages, giving engine builders the flexibility to customize water port sizing to match their specific aftermarket heads while maintaining optimal sealing integrity. This gasket is an excellent choice for high-compression street performance engines, forced induction applications, and race motors requiring reliable sealing under extreme conditions.
