The MSD 5096 DynaForce High-Torque Starter is a premium gear reduction starter engineered for GM LS1–LS7 Gen III/IV small block engines running 168-tooth flywheels. Built from all-new components and hand-assembled in the USA, every unit is dyno-tested and blueprinted before leaving the factory to ensure maximum reliability and consistent performance.

At the heart of the DynaForce is a 3.4 horsepower motor paired with a 4.4:1 gear reduction set, delivering the cranking torque needed to turn over high-compression engines up to 18:1 compression ratio. The balanced armature rides on two precision ball bearings for smooth, reliable engagement across thousands of starts. Internal contacts and the solenoid disc are nickel-plated to minimize arcing and maintain strong electrical continuity.
