Product Details

The Stabilus 893660 hatch strut, also sold as a liftgate lift support or gas strut, helps raise and hold the rear hatch open. It is based on the OE design for proper fit, form and function. It is also listed under the Stabilus part number 3B-893660.

Key Features:

  • Lift-O-Mat dynamic damping. A groove pressed into the tube wall lets gas flow around the piston, so no oil column is needed.
  • Speed control gives a fluid opening motion, with no bouncing or jerking during cycling.
  • Coatings are tested to automotive standards for corrosion resistance.
  • Compressed length: 15.79 in. Cylinder outside diameter: 0.866 in. End 2 mount diameter: 0.394 in. End 2 material: nylon.
  • Easy to install and requires no special tools.

Stabilus recommends replacing lift supports in pairs for best results. A worn strut can let the hatch drift down or fail to stay open. Replacing it restores smooth, controlled operation.
