Product Details

The Goodyear Belts & Hoses 55920 Automatic Belt Tensioner (also called an automatic drive belt tensioner or accessory drive belt tensioner) helps keep your engine's belt drive running smoothly. It applies steady tension to the drive belt as operating conditions change.

Key Features:

  • Automatic tensioning mechanism that continuously adjusts belt tension to keep it at the right level
  • Precision-engineered to match the requirements of the vehicle's belt drive system
  • Built from durable materials such as steel, aluminum, high-strength polymers and advanced coatings
  • Sealed, low-friction bearing design to reduce wear, noise and vibration
  • Helps maintain proper belt tension and alignment for accessories such as the alternator, power steering pump and A/C compressor

Proper tension helps prevent belt slippage, reduces noise and supports belt life. Replacing a worn tensioner is a common step when servicing a high-mileage belt drive.
