Product Details

The Goodyear Belts & Hoses 55212 Automatic Belt Tensioner (also called a serpentine belt tensioner or FEAD tensioner) is a complete tensioner assembly. It supports the engine's accessory belt drive. The tensioner keeps the belt at the right tension as operating conditions change.

Key Features:

  • Automatic tensioning: Maintains proper belt tension to keep the belt drive efficient.
  • Vibration damping: Dampens torsional vibrations, which helps extend belt life.
  • Precision-made pulley: Keeps the belt properly aligned.
  • Complete assembly: Designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

High-mileage engines often lose efficiency from worn ball bearings, improper tension and misalignment. Replacing the tensioner restores correct belt drive performance and helps prevent belt slip, noise and premature belt wear.
