Product Details

The Goodyear Belts & Hoses 55204 is an automatic belt tensioner, also called a FEAD (front-end accessory drive) tensioner or serpentine belt tensioner. It keeps the accessory drive belt at the right tension so power moves efficiently from the crankshaft to the alternator, power steering pump, and A/C compressor.

Key Features:

  • Automatic tensioning keeps belt tension consistent, which supports belt drive efficiency
  • Dampens torsional vibrations to help extend belt life
  • Precision-made pulley keeps the belt properly aligned
  • Machined exterior finish
  • Manufacturer part number: 55204

Worn bearings, incorrect tension, and misalignment can reduce efficiency in high-mileage engines. Replacing the tensioner helps restore smooth, quiet belt drive operation.

I received the parts quickly and am happy with their performance. Solved my problem!
