Tecumseh Start Capacitor

Tecumseh start capacitors give hermetic compressor motors the extra boost they need to start. They are used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, and are also called motor start capacitors or compressor start capacitors. During startup, the capacitor supplies a short burst of stored energy to the motor's start winding. This helps the compressor overcome its initial load and reach running speed.
