Airtex Intake Manifold Runner Control Solenoid

The Airtex Intake Manifold Runner Control Solenoid (also called an intake manifold runner solenoid, IMRC solenoid or intake runner control valve) is an engine management part for vehicles with a variable-length or variable-geometry intake manifold. It is an electrically operated solenoid. The engine computer uses it to control vacuum to the runner actuator, which changes the airflow path inside the manifold.

Key Features:

• Opens and closes the vacuum circuit on command from the engine control module, so the manifold runners can adjust to engine speed and load
• Supports a balance of low-rpm torque and high-rpm power by switching the intake runner configuration
• Built as a direct replacement for the original solenoid, with an electrical connector and vacuum hose ports for plug-in installation
• Backed by Airtex, a long-established maker of replacement fuel, cooling and engine management parts

A worn or failing runner control solenoid can cause a check engine light, reduced power, rough running or poor fuel economy. Replacing it restores correct runner operation. Installation is usually simple: disconnect the electrical connector and vacuum lines, swap the solenoid, and reconnect. Choose the variant whose part number matches your application.
