Marshall Excelsior Co. High Capacity LP Pigtail Hose

The Marshall Excelsior Co. High Capacity LP Pigtail Hose is a high flow propane (LP gas) pigtail. It connects a standard LP cylinder to a regulator in RV, trailer and other propane systems. It is built for setups that draw more gas than a standard pigtail supports, such as motorhomes, travel trailers and on-demand hot water heaters.

Key Features:

• High capacity: rated for 400,000 BTU, for applications above the 200,000 BTU range
• Safety: excess flow shut-off, plus a heat-sensitive thermal link on the connector for thermal protection
• Type I QCC connection: the female Quick Check Connector has a nylon nut that tightens by hand, so no wrench is needed to attach it to the LP cylinder
• Regulator end: male inverted flare fitting
• Hose construction: high pressure thermoplastic hose with brass ferrules
• Pressure rating: 350 PSIG working pressure
• Testing: 100% leak tested
• Compliance: RVIA and NFPA 1192 compliant
• Regulator: sold without a regulator

The thermal protection works through the connector. Between 240°F and 300°F the brass nipple moves back about 1/4 inch. This closes the cylinder valve module and stops gas flow. A flow-limiting device inside the nipple senses excessive gas flow and shuts off the supply.

Marshall Excelsior has made propane regulators and LP gas connection products for many years. This pigtail line gives RV owners and propane system installers a dependable replacement hose.
