Motorcraft Rack and Pinion Steering Gear Assembly

The Motorcraft Rack and Pinion Steering Gear Assembly is a replacement steering rack designed to restore precise steering response and control. Motorcraft is Ford Motor Company's official parts brand, and its steering gears are engineered to meet Ford's original equipment standards. Whether you call it a steering rack, rack and pinion unit, or steering gear, this part turns steering wheel input into the lateral motion that turns the front wheels.

Key Features:

• Engineered to Ford original equipment specifications for dependable fit, form and function
• Converts rotary steering wheel motion into linear motion to steer the wheels
• Helps restore steering feel, on-center response and handling when the original unit is worn, leaking or loose
• Built to work with the vehicle's power steering system and related steering components
• Supplied as a complete assembly to simplify replacement

A worn or leaking steering gear can cause play in the wheel, wandering, noise or fluid loss. Replacing it with a Motorcraft assembly gives you a quality, factory-matched solution. After installation, a professional wheel alignment is recommended, and the power steering system should be refilled and bled according to the vehicle service procedure.
