MAHLE TX Engine Coolant Thermostat C Opening Temperature

The MAHLE TX Series engine coolant thermostat (also called a cooling system thermostat or thermostat insert) regulates engine operating temperature by controlling coolant flow between the engine and the radiator. It is made to OE-quality standards as a direct-fit replacement.

Key Features:

• Wax-element design: A thermal expansion element moves a piston to open the coolant flow path at the rated temperature. A spring returns the piston to the closed position as the coolant cools.
• Calibrated opening temperature: The opening temperature is shown by the last two digits of the part number in MAHLE's naming convention, so you can match the correct rating for your engine.
• Faster warm-up: The thermostat stays closed while the engine is cold, which helps it reach operating temperature quickly.
• Overheating and overcooling protection: It opens as the engine reaches operating temperature, which helps protect the radiator, head gasket and water pump.
• Maintenance-free operation: The sealed element is built for long service life.
• Gasket or seal versions: Some part numbers in the line include a gasket or seal. A "D" suffix generally indicates this.

A thermostat that is working properly helps the engine keep consistent temperatures, which supports fuel efficiency, lower emissions and less engine wear. MAHLE is a well-known OE supplier of engine and cooling system components. Choose the child part number with the opening temperature that matches your application.
