The Dorman spindle axle nut (also called a axle shaft nut, spindle nut or hub nut) secures the wheel bearing and hub assembly to the spindle or axle shaft. It is a hex-style nut with a threaded body. A wrench or socket is used to tighten it to the correct preload.
