Hella Lane Change Assistant Control Unit

Hella Lane Change Assistant Control Units are radar-based modules for blind spot monitoring and lane change assist systems. They are also called lane change assist modules, blind spot monitor sensors, or lane departure warning modules. They help warn the driver when a lane change could be dangerous, especially at highway speeds.

Key Features:

• Radar sensor technology that watches the area beside and behind the vehicle
• Warns the driver of vehicles in the blind spot or approaching quickly from behind
• The system uses a master and a slave control unit with identical designs. Each unit combines the electronics with an integrated radar sensor.
• A plastic cover, called a radome, sits over the radar sensor. It is made of a material that radar beams pass through well.
• Direct-replacement design to restore the original system function
• Many units need activation or coding after installation. Installation should be done by qualified personnel.

Hella has supplied electronics and radar sensors to vehicle manufacturers for many years. It was an early maker of 24 GHz radar sensors for rear-facing driver assistance. These control units bring that OE experience to aftermarket repair and help restore blind spot and lane change warning functions.
