Mepco Cap Disc Assembly for Series Thermostatic Steam Traps

The Mepco cap and disc assembly (also called a thermostatic cap and disc, thermostatic element or steam trap repair cap) is a replacement part for Mepco thermostatic steam traps. Mepco was formerly known as Dunham-Bush. The assembly restores proper trap operation in radiator and fin tube heating systems. It also works in float and thermostatic (F&T) traps on steam return mains.

How It Works:

• The cap holds a sealed, liquid-filled thermostatic capsule.
• When steam is present, the liquid expands and pushes the plunger into the discharge seat. This seals the steam inside the heating apparatus.
• As the trap cools, the liquid contracts and the plunger lifts. Air and condensate can then discharge.

Key Features:

• Thermostatic disc design keeps steam out of the condensate return system while still discharging air and condensate.
• Replaces the worn cap and disc in the trap, so you do not have to replace the whole trap body.
• Made for Mepco (Dunham-Bush) thermostatic and F&T steam trap series.

Several part numbers are available in this line. Each one is matched to specific Mepco trap series and models.
